Looking back on the Week!!

24th April 2020

Another busy weeks for the children in the Rainbow Rooms.  We started off the week with fun with numbers.  The children did great with their counting, number formation and their addition.  Amazing work everyone.

Number Work

On Tuesday, we were all very creative making our very own sensory bags.  First the children had to find materials to put into their sensory bags and then they were very busy making them.  All of the sensory bags looked so different and we are sure that you all enjoyed squishing them, smelling them, and making shapes, numbers and letters!!

Sensory Bags

On Wednesday we marked Earth Day by getting outside in nature and making our own leaf people.  The sun was shining that day so it was lovely to be outside, although the wind at times did try to blow away our leaf people.

On Thursday, we did our Art lesson and because our theme was still Zoo Animals this week, we all made wonderful Giraffes.  We also had a link on our Weebly for the story 'Giraffes Can't Dance', which is always a great story to listen to.

On Friday, we decided to all have great fun with our phonics.  Using our spray bottle, we did a warm up activity spraying out the line and person. Then we all got down to the hard work of spraying out the letter as they were called.

Fun with Phonics

As if that was not enough, all the children kept going with their work at home.  Well done to everyone, you are all making a tremendous effort in all your work from maths, to reading and writing.

Working Hard

There was also extra art work done with the children showing off their creative side and their imaginations.

Finally, if that wasn't a busy enough week, there was still time for Aistear at home.  There is no stopping these children.

Looking back over the week!!

3rd April 2020

Everyone has received their work packs and the Padlet is up and running and going great!

The boys and girls were kept busy with their challenges this week from stretching to hopping on the spot, having fun with numbers, doing their artwork, going on a 'Blue Hunt' to mark Autism Awareness Day, to looking for Signs of Spring in their gardens.

  • Here are some of  the boys and girls using their art supplies for week 1, to create beautiful artwork of Elmer Elephant.

  • To mark Autism Awareness Day on 2nd April, the staff of Navan Educate Together NS went blue and here are some of the children with things they found on their blue hunt.

  • To end the week the children were encouraged to get outside and find the Signs of Spring in their gardens.
Some of the children did their own animals artwork and also did great work from their packs, which they were proud to show off.

The children are now on their midterm holidays for the next two weeks.  We hope they enjoy relaxing at home.  The children have extra Art Packs marked 2-6, we will do pack 2 after the midterm together on the Padlet, if we are all still home schooling.

As soon as the school receives any further information from the Government regarding schooling, the Principal will inform you of the updates.

Enjoy the midterm and stay safe.
